Michael is the percussion head of the largest scholastic marching percussion program in Canada at St Michael’s College School in Toronto. He is also the Percussion Head and composer of Oak Ridge Percussion and the Trinity College School drumline, as well as an active consultant for many drumlines across Canada.

In 2008, Yamaha Music Canada initiated their “Start the Groove” program with Michael. He has also conducted many workshops at provincial conferences for music educator’s associations, and Percussive Arts Society’s “Day of Percussion”.

Michael’s much-anticipated publication “Developing Modern Drumlines” is now available for purchase from this website. This book provides all the information you need to initiate, teach, and direct a marching percussion ensemble. Please visit the Books page for more information.

During his teenage years, Michael marched 10 seasons in a number of drum corps and indoor drumlines, including three seasons in “World Class” ensembles in both Drum Corps International DCI,  and Winter Gaurd International WGI .

At the age of 18, Michael began teaching and composing for several drum corps and indoor drumlines.

Michael is available as a consultant for drumlines and rudimental percussion. For booking information, please email Michael.
